In this certificate of ordination, a St. Louis pastor Hugo Krebs wrote that Karl Tummler had studied at the University of Jena from 1854-1857.

Susann Pfeifer was able to find a matriculatioon document from the University of Jena (written in Latin). The fourth name on the second page is "Carolus Tummler, Vimarensis"
